In mid 1999, I was invited to teach drum lessons at Drum Headquarters, Saint Louis’ premier 5-star drum shop. I gladly accepted the offer and taught there for over 15 years alongside some of the best drum instructors in the midwest.

Drum Headquarters was widely regarded as the destination for the highest level of private drum instruction in the region, and I was honored to be part of its teaching staff.
While there, I maintained a weekly schedule of nearly 40 private drum students.

During my years teaching at Drum Headquarters, I had the rare opportunity to study privately with many internationally recognized touring drummers whenever they came through St. Louis. For more than 15 years, I accumulated dozens of one-on-one master classes with some of the best drummers in the world.

In addition to those private master classes, Drum Headquarters maintained an extensive library of instructional videos featuring many of the greatest drummers in history. Working there, I absorbed hundreds of hours of professional instruction and performances.

When Drum Headquarters closed, I founded Saint Louis Drum Lessons to continue offering excellent in-person private instruction.​As the sole proprietor, every student works directly with me—there are no rotating teachers or substitutes—ensuring consistency, depth, and individualized attention.

​

 

Combined with my early training under Kevin Gianino, longtime Head of the Percussion Department at Webster University, these experiences have shaped my broad, well-rounded approach and knowledge of the art drumming. I'm proud to pass this knowledge on to my current students.
